For many years Somalis have endured violence, displacement, malnutrition and a severe lack of access to adequate health care. Sadly 2008 was no different.
In fact a range of factors including ongoing and indiscriminative violence; the collapse of the local economy and the ability to transport and deliver food aid; drought; inflation and high international food prices and a drastic reduction in humanitarian aid exacerbated people's already appalling living conditions.
