Zethu provides strategic direction on public communication for MSF Southern Africa in order to represent and position MSF to audiences and stakeholders, shaping their perception of the organisation in Southern Africa according to its social mission and in support of advocacy, operational communication, fundraising and recruitment objectives.

In my role as the Regional Communication Manager, I ensure that the operational communication needs and strategies of MSF operations in Southern Africa are defined, developed and achieved. I support and work closely with our communication teams in the region to ensure continued visibility of our activities.

Managing all social media accounts for Doctors Without Borders Southern Africa. Develop and implement cross-platform social media strategies. Build community & audience relationships through engagement which also informs content management.

The Communications Manager is responsible for enabling the content-creation team to produce exceptional audio-visual and written content that accurately portrays the experiences of MSF staff and patients. This content is used across all departments and social media platforms and serves to raise awareness, generate interest and grow our donor pool.

In my current role as the Media Liaison for Doctors Without Borders (MSF), I establish and nurture meaningful relationships with journalists, editors, and producers (national and international) from various media outlets to enhance awareness and build positive sentiment for the brand.
